APPLICATION
Audio
If available I was applying for the position of Sound Director, being in charge of organizing and compiling all contributed audio and (doubling as Engineer here) preparing it for in-game use. I also wanted to play the role of composer for the game in which I would be composing music and ambient tracks to boost the excitement of gameplay.
EXPERIENCE : I have my own home recording studio where I've both composed my own music and recorded the music of others. I am skilled in engineering when it comes to editing, preparing, and mixing final tracks. My mastering skills are moderate but workable.
I have my own band that consists of two members (myself and my friend Dustin) called Dreadstar, where I compose all of the music and Dustin writes all lyrics and sings all lead vocals. I then move on to mix the entire track on my own.
I have acted as producer for a few local rappers, where I compose (compose, not sample) the music and then record their vox, followed by mixing and mastering, all the way down to CD production of their demos.
I have also scored a few choice games, as well as recorded and engineered for a couple of local voice actors.
Portfolio of Audio
http://www.starcloudproductions.com is my portfolio website where you can find examples of my work.
You can also find more examples at my band website here : http://www.dreadstarband.com
Here are a couple of links to other examples not found on the main site :
Takran Online soundtrack
Takran is still in development at present time.
Hip Hop examples
All music and engineering by me. Main rapper - Phabious Brown. Support MCs on "Get Loose" - Alonzo and Constantine
Also, go here : http://www.willyums.com to see a friend who is trying to build his skills as a voice actor. I recorded, engineered, and prepared for demo his examples. They're a little weird, but still an example.
Graphics
If time allows, I wouldn't mind lending some of my graphics skills. I'm Photoshop Certified and certified in layout design. Down the line and towards the end I could help out with packaging design and advertisements, but in the mean time I'll lend a hand with anything you feel you could use me on.
You can see some examples of my graphic work under the VISUAL heading on my website : http://www.starcloudproductions.com
Keep in mind that I am not yet skilled in low poly modeling for games. I can do a little bit of modeling but my skills are nowhere near phenomenal. However, as a current student, I plan on focusing a lot of energy on 3d design.
GAME EXPERIENCE
TAKRAN ONLINE - Composer, Prop Modeler
KINGDOMS AT WAR - Sound Director, Composer, Concept Artist, Weapons Modeler
NINJIN - Co-Designer (game is still in planning stages)
EXTRA NOTE : I am skilled in web design. Master of HTML and mildly skilled in CSS. Not much more than that, but I may be able to contribute in those areas if needed.
www.starcloudproductions.com and www.dreadstarband.com are close to the extent of my current skills on that.
Thank you for your time.

That's quite an application, we can definitely use a multitalented person such as yourself. I've already given you freedom to roam the private sections of the forum so you can learn more about the projects, if you really have a deep enough interest in them and what kind of attention they need. Feel free to post any thoughts and opinions anywhere now. As for storylines, there is a pretty chunky document about Shadowing Hate if you care to read through it, I'm very open to any suggestions on how to improve the story and gameplay but at the same time apprehensive about overcomplicating an already complicated and ambitious project for us first-timers. We'll need to make sure the story stays friendly to a simple "Serious Sam" shoot-em-up but of course try to get more out of it. We'll discuss all that elsewhere though. Welcome!
Thank you.
Yes, I've already read through the Shadowing Hate Document and it really does jump out at me. I have a couple of story ideas, but those will come later (I have to leave for work in five minutes).
So my question now, boss, is what do you need done immediately? I already have a couple ideas for some ambient soundscapes coupled with some action cues on the audio side of things.... but is there anything that needs done immediately that you see my skills fitting for?

What we're in immediate need of are textures, maybe you could look at the "contribute anything" thread and maybe you'd be interested in doing a little bit of that kind of work for now, simple and easy, and not too time-consuming. Then, having contributed something already, I can put you up on the team member list on the site. We're in such need of textures, I'm going to whip some cash out and just buy some texture sets, once we've had a good browse, and I'll also contact some people about using their texture sets, if they want to contribute to us. As for music, we could use a few action tracks for the multiplayer release we have planned, but we'll talk more about the details of such in a private thread. I'll be doing some music too so it will be good to collaborate with other musicians for these projects. I'm a tad rusty.
I've got a logo for my band to submit as an advertisement. I'll try to come up with some graffiti too. Where do you want me to post those? In the "Contribute Anything" thread? OR somewhere else?
Also, started to work on a couple of textures too. Shall I make those known in the Textures forum? Also on the subject of textures, let me know what things need textured so I Know what to make. If at all possible I would like to help you avoid dishing out some cash for those texture sets if at all possible. We shouldn't need them right away anyway (as programming is probably what needs done the most at the moment I'm guessing). That way, gradually over time I can contribute some textures alongside our other artists to minimize what textures we need to purchase. After all, I could really use some texture examples for my portfolio.
I'm thinking of starting up a special site on my server to house all of my contributions to this company, that way I can just post in the proper forums when it's updated, then you can head on over to the site and pick up the textures/sounds/models/whatever.

I will write up a doc about what stuff is needed for both projects and some of the processes needed to create proper textures with normalmaps, and I will also get a bunch of little pics together for reference. I've already started that but since I'm on 56k it's very time-consuming for me and sometimes hard to find appropriate images. As for posting, you can post about your texture work in either "textures" or "WIPs", make yourself at home. That "contribute anything" post is open to the public because little bits of graffiti are hardly fundamental design elements.
