New to the forum?

Post by LDAsh »

Welcome. This is where team members and other people involved in these projects discuss the important issues and make decisions. Anyone is welcome as long as they can at least give some constructive feedback. You'll need to at least register here in order to post and see the private threads, but don't worry, I personally guarantee you won't receive any junkmail and all information is kept purely confidential, it's only up to you to decide what information you put into your profile.
The main threads of interest are the WIPs threads (works in progress) where you will see what is being worked on, as it's being worked on. There are also public feedback threads (you'll still need to register to post) but these only contain shots that are displayed on the website. We strongly encourage public feedback, don't feel shy to say what you think, just register and let us know. If you want to join us, then post about yourself in the recruiting topic. You can contact me directly if you have any questions, but try to keep as much information in this forum as possible. We're a team, so don't feel shy to present yourself to the team as part of it. Every opinion and suggestion will be respected and is valued.

A couple of times now I've had people registering here and posting stuff that has nothing to do with our projects or even game development. I've wanted to keep this forum open to everyone and not make things difficult for people to come here and read and post, but it seems this is only going to bring bad stuff here, and I don't want that, so a couple of rules to begin with....

1)- If your personal info contains links to pornographic or otherwise questionable content, you will be removed
2)- Should you make any posts that refer to pornographic or otherwise questionable content, you will be removed
3)- If you are contacted and fail to reply about your intentions here, within about 2 days, you will be removed

If there are misunderstandings and I end up deleting you unfairly, just contact me about it and everything will be fine. You will still be able to visit and read, even if you are some sickly desperate porn webmaster, but your posting rights and registration will be none. We're trying to do game development here, that's all. It may be incredibly violent and tasteless sometimes, but never, even in the slightest, will I allow it to be pornographic.

!!!BE WARNED!!!
This forum has been getting pr0n spambots registering up like crazy lately and I just can't deal with them all, I delete 1 and 3 more pop up in its place. Until we get a decent webmaster on the team there's not much that can be done about it.
So, be warned, do not click the "website" button in the memberlist or from profiles unless you're absolutely sure it's a legit member and site. Do _NOT_ visit these sites if the URL contains anything sexual or otherwise suspicious. We cannot be held responsible for any abhorrent content you may be exposed to or any spyware/malware they may try to put on your system.
I'll try to figure out a way to deal with this but for now they will keep signing up. I have no idea why this is happening but there are plenty of other boards this happens to, I guess without enough security they will find you and grind your nostrils into the gutter.

fogmann.com sounds very suspicious, I admit, but I promise no pr0n or otherwise harmful content in there. However, be warned, there's some bad art in there that's about to get moved out >_<. So you might consider not clicking it to protect your eyes! :)

Anyways, I can feel your pain, as I get ad comments posted on my WordPress blog. I disabled comments from unregistered members, and I don't know how some manage to post, since I don't see new members in the member list. That's freaking me out.

Now that you mentioned this problem, I just had a quick look at the old Pandaemonium forums and wow, there's tons of ad posts added. I'm just going to delete the whole forum, and the database, cause the forum is not being used. I can only suggest looking up phpBB support forums to see if there's a way to deal with this spam, but otherwise, I have no clue how to stop the spammers :(
