CorbX for recruition.

Post by CorbX »

Hello to all.

Nick.
23 yrs old male.
Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Roughly 6 years ago I came across the ViolaE Web Site and asked LDA how he made the cool stuff for Quake 2 and 3.
He virtually took me by the hand and guided me through mapping with Radiant.
It's all so long ago I don't have the maps and thingies I made back then, but I remember I had allot of fun messing around with it and creating stuff.

Now I would like to once more join the process of creating.
So here I am.

The best skill set I think I have however is not creating but gaming intself.
I can be very sceptical about games, enviroments, models, gameplay elements, sounds and what not that has to do with gaming.
From back in the day of Prince of Persia and later on Dune2, Duke Nukem, C&C and Quake I've been playing a veriety of games.
Mostly RTS and shooters for a long time.
These days I also play racing games like Burnout 3 and Revenge.
I'll make a list of games I played and maybe I should write some small reviews about my stand on what works for these games and what does not.
This would give a nice view about what I think is important.
To give a big hint, a game could look crappy but still be fun with an awesome gameplay.

Furthermore I will look into this forum and see where I can help.
I'll be consulting with LDA about what software to use for mapping, where he might need a voice actor, what needs to be playtested and or reviewed, and so on and so forth.
If you need an honest opinion about anything, just ask.
You can MSN or E-Mail me at "cxnick@live.nl"
[I'll update this once I've taken the time to have ICQ up and running]

You've already had full access to this forum since the beginning. :P

Mapping for CC-idTech3 will use GtkRadiant:-
http://www.qeradiant.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi

The content for CC will be uploaded in a few days, and there's a shitload to get up so it may be up to a week before it's ready for mappers.
